About Me
Well, if you are reading this page, chances are that you know who I am at the least. I am currently at Purdue University in my first semester of my Junior year studying aerospace engineering. I attend Purdue Christian Campus House, through whom I am going on this mission trip. I went to a mission trip to Thailand last year with Campus House, and it was a blessing in so many ways that there are many a days when I think about how God worked (and is still working) and how He used that trip in my life in such a powerful way. I know that throughout my life, God has been placing me in the right places at the right times to help me grow closer to Him, and I truly am overwhelmed when I take time to think about my life and how He has worked in me. I went to Thailand last year now knowing what to expect in anyway, not having gone to anything close to a mission trip before. However, having been through that experience now, I can say that I absolutely have been changed by it in so many ways and loved serving people and meeting the church around the world, and seeing and experiencing the love that they have. I know that this trip will be life changing as well, although I am not sure in what way. I once again don't know what to expect, except that God will work in me and through me so that I can serve in whatever way He wants me to serve.
My Trip
We will be going to the Southern part of Ecuador in the mountaneous areas near Cuenca. Our team will be leaving on May 11th and will be serving through OMS International for 2 weeks according to the need in the area. OMS International serves the area and its people through various home churches, a retreat center, and a christian broadcasting station which reaches out the Saraguro people, who live in the jungles and the mountains of the area, and we will be assisting them in any way possible. Our Team consists of 10 students including me, and 2 leaders who are Campus House interns, and we are all extremely eager to go and serve in Ecuador.
Support
If you would like to support me through prayers or financially, it would be greatly appreciated. Most importantly I need prayers that our team will do, in Ecuador, what God want us to do, and that we will all draw closer to Him and serve people in whatever ways He presents for us. Please pray for me and the team as we prepare for the trip, and especially during the trip as we serve God in Ecuador. Please pray for our safety while we are in Ecuador and that the Spirit will move in us and through us while we serve God. Now when I first decided to go on this mission trip I wanted to fund the whole thing by myself because I knew it would be hard to do, and I would still like to do that to some extent, but I have realized that a large part of being part of the church is having a willigness to BE served as much as a willingness TO serve, and as such I have decided to ask for support in raising the funds along with well funding it myself. I sincerely appreciate and ask for any kind of support, whether prayer or financial.
NOTE: The "funds" meter on the left is not quite accurate. I have already funded about half of the cost of the trip so far, but did that before I created this profile so I did not do it through here.
